PATH is a European research and innovation project aiming to support the safe and effective integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into cancer care through the development of a secure, interoperable, and privacy-preserving digital platform. The project addresses the growing complexity of cancer management, where large volumes of heterogeneous clinical data must be analyzed to enable personalized treatment and better clinical decision-making.
Today, cancer care generates data from many sources, including imaging, pathology, genomics, electronic health records, and patient-reported outcomes. While these data offer great potential for precision medicine, their diversity and lack of interoperability make their use in clinical decision-making difficult. PATH will develop technologies that allow secure data sharing, AI-supported analysis, and integration into clinical workflows, aligned with the European Health Data Space and Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
The project will build a federated infrastructure that will allow hospitals, researchers, and AI developers to collaborate without compromising data privacy, enabling trustworthy and scalable deployment of AI solutions across Europe.
